Guilford High School Student Arrested for Violent Threats

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A 15-year-old Guilford High School Student has been arrested after the Rockford Police School Unit began investigating complaints that were being transmitted on Facebook regarding an alleged shooting. The alleged shooting was to take place at the high school on either December 20th or 21st.

The student indicated that she made the threat solely to cause disruption in the school.

After admitting to making the threat, the 15-year-old was then arrested for Disorderly Conduct: Knowingly causes to be transmitted a threat of violence (Class 4 Felony).

The Rockford Police Department takes all threats of violence towards students, staff, or property seriously and all cases will be investigated and arrests will be made.
