BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- In the Belvidere Chrysler plant's four and a half decade history few times has the plant experienced more stability than it has right now.
Wednesday a non profit agency out of Ann Arbor, Michigan showed Belvidere leaders how it's organization can help keep the Stateline's Chrysler momentum going.
Bernard Swiecki is from the Center for Automotive Research and he served as the keynote speaker at Growth dimensions' Annual Spring Reception. Swiecki say CAR can be especially beneficial for smaller auto towns like Belvidere.
"The smaller communities usually have fewer assets to them, fewer resources. maybe a harder time connecting with the largest automakers and suppliers. Through some of our clout we can basically form a group. Basically everyone represented together and knock on the door basically as a larger organization," Swiecki said.
The main goal for CAR is to do research, develop strategies and keep car manufacturers throughout the Midwest up to date with government regulations.
