DIXON, Ill. (AP) -- Greyhound Lines says bringing back bus service to the northern Illinois city of Dixon is under consideration.
Greyhound spokeswoman Alexandra Pedrini says the company is working with the state of Illinois. Pedrini says they are in the "preliminary stages of re-establishing service."
The Telegraph in Dixon reports Monday that Greyhound stopped service in 2011 because of lack of riders. The closest Greyhound stops to Dixon are in Freeport, Stockton, Moline, LaSalle and Rockford.
Dixon Mayor Jim Burke says Greyhound service could boost tourism.
