Great American Cleanup in Northern Illinois Set for April 27

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It may be hard to think about spring cleaning on a day like today, but Keep Northern Illinois Beautiful has announced plans for its 26th annual "Great American Cleanup".

Hundreds of Stateliners can volunteer to help pick up litter on April 27th. If your school or business is interested in participating, you must register by April 19th.

On Saturday, April 27th, a designated team member will pick up supplies at one of the 20 distribution site between 8 and 9 a.m. and proceed to their assigned team cleanup location to hand out supplies. Teams pick up litter from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Complimentary water and snacks, courtesy of event sponsors will be provided for all volunteers.

Patriots’ Gateway Center, 615 South 5th Street, Rockford will serve as the central location for volunteers’ supplies (gloves, safety vests, trash bags, and litter tongs). The other sites are listed at www.knib.org.
