UPDATE: 6th Annual Peanut Butter Rally Brings in 13,000 Jars

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- During the summer the Rock River Valley Food Pantry says there's a greater need to help feed Stateline kids. Now thanks to a local auto shop they will be able to make thousands of PB&J's.

We told you a couple of weeks ago Gerber Collision and Glass was collecting jars of peanut butter for the 8th Annual Peanut Butter Rally. And get this they were able to bring in more than 13,000 jars. And it's much needed, this summer alone the pantry expected to feed around 2,500 Stateline kids

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – For those of you who like peanut butter, you know it tastes good, but who knew it could help so many people?

Gerber Collision and Glass hosted its 6th Annual Peanut Butter Rally today. They collected the snack as well as cash donations to help the Rock River Valley Food Pantry.

The donations will help feed kids throughout the summer. You can stop by either location in Rockford or Loves Park to donate peanut butter or other non-perishable foods.
