Gas Prices Continue Declining in Rockford Area

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford area gas prices have fallen 16 cents per gallon this week. The average now sits at $3.77 per gallon.

According to GasBuddy, that's 14 cents per gallon lower than a month ago in Rockford but 22 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

The national average is currently at $3.57 per gallon after falling three cents per gallon this week. That prices has decreased almost 10 cents per gallon this month and is 12 cents per gallon higher than a year ago.

"From what we saw in the last few days with oil prices, I'm hopeful that most areas of the United States will see new or continued relief for at least the first half of this week, with some areas seeing a continued drop for most of this week," said Patrick DeHaan, GasBuddy.com senior petroleum analyst, in a press release.
