MACHESNEY PARK (WIFR) -- Nearly one year after a local woman's body was found dumped in the Rock River, following a brutal beating. The victim's sister is trying to carry on her loved ones name.
Twenty percent of the sales at Red Mango in Machesney Park went to the Sissy's Foot Prints Foundation. A fund created in Katrina Smith's name. Smith's sister says the money will help families who have lost a loved one, receive grief counseling. In the meantime, suspected killer and Katrina's husband Todd Smith is trying to get his trial moved out of the area claiming the jury pool is tainted from too much publicity.
