UPDATE: Missing Freeport Woman Found Dead in Wisconsin

FREEPORT (WIFR) -- Cold weather is believed to be a factor in the death of a Freeport woman who was found in Wisconsin Saturday night.

76-year-old Mary Scudder was found in Blanchardville, Wisconsin, which is in the northeast corner of Lafayette County, about 30 feet from her car. Scudder suffered from dementia and had been missing since Friday afternoon, when family say she was headed to the bank.

The official cause of Scudder's death is still under investigation.

FREEPORT (WIFR) -- Family members tell 23 News that Mary Scudder, 76, of Freeport, who had been missing since yesterday afternoon, has been found dead.

Scudder suffered from dementia and left yesterday afternoon to go to the bank. Her car was found a few hours ago in Blanchardville, Wisconsin.

Around 10:15 p.m., we got word that her body was found in a driveway near her car. Family members tell us that police say there doesn't appear to be any signs of foul play but it's likely a cold weather was a contributing factor to her death.

We will have more information as it becomes available.

Mary T. Scudder, 76, of Freeport has been missing since leaving her home around 2 p.m. Friday. She has dementia.

Scudder is 5'5", 130-pounds with brown hair and green eyes.

She drives a gray 2006 Chevrolet Malibu, license plate number C95 9081, with slight damage to the passenger side fender. She is thought to have left with no winter coat.
She was last seen in the Empire Street and Cornerstone Credit Union area.
