Four Men Arrested on Drug Charges in Belvidere

On Thursday, February 7, 2013, four individuals were arrested by Belvidere Police on drug charges.

BELVIDERE (WIFR) -- On Thursday, February 7, 2013, four individuals were arrested by Belvidere Police on drug charges.

The following men were charged with one count of unlawful possession of drug paraphernalia and one count of unlawful possession of cannabis. They remain in custody in the Boone county jail each on a $1,500.00 (10%) bond.

Nicholas Carter, 21 years old of Belvidere, Illinois
Nathan Burza, 22 years old of Belvidere, Illinois
Matthew Burza, 20 years old of Belvidere, Illinois
Justin Carter, 24 years old of Belvidere, Illinois

On the morning of Thursday, February 7th, Belvidere Police executed a search warrant at a residence located in the 1800 block of 7th avenue street, Belvidere. Police seized cannabis, pills, scales, drug packaging materials, drug paraphernalia, and united states currency.

The investigation began after police received numerous complaints from area residents who reside in the 1800 block of 7th avenue, Belvidere. The arrests are another example of residents taking stock in their neighborhood and calling police. This partnership between the residents and the police department continue to help make Belvidere a safer community.
