DIXON (WIFR) -- Dixon's former city engineer won't face criminal charges for using the city's credit card for personal use.
The Dixon Telegraph says Lee County State's Attorney Anna Sacco-Miller will not charge Shawn Ortgiesen. The ex-employee resigned in April after admitting he charged more than $13,000 in personal expenses on a city credit card. Ortgiesen paid back the money with interest.
Sacco-Miller says she couldn't prove theft or official misconduct beyond a reasonable doubt because city commissioners and the mayor signed off on Ortgiesen's purchases.
