ROSCOE (WIFR) – The Stateline company who made gears for NASA’s Mars rover, is putting the finishing touches on a project that’s a little closer to home.
Forest City Gear gave us a tour of their new spin-off, Roscoe Works. This new manufacturer will make blanks for its parent company. Blanks are used to cut gears. The company’s owners have been in the Stateline for more than 50 years. As the new name suggests, they’re very proud of their village and the people who live there.
“We have a lot of people who are from this area who work here and we wanted to be able to stay close to roscoe it's a great community,” said owner Fred Young.
We’re told this new facility still leaves Roscoe Works some room to grow and more jobs could be on the way within the next few years.
