Police: Four Injured in Accident Involving School Bus

LEAF RIVER (WIFR) -- Police remain on the scene of a crash involving a school bus on Pecatonica Road south of Montague Road.

Ogle County Sheriff Michael Harn says the bus driver, who works for the Forestville Valley School District was pulled over to let a student off around 4 p.m. on Friday when a pick-up truck slammed into the bus head on.

Police say two kids, 11-year-old Ashton Grosembacher and 14-year-old Lane Meyer, were taken to the hospital with minor injuries. The truck driver, 28-year-old Timothy Hilton of Pecatonica, is in serious condition and was extricated from the truck. . The bus driver, 64-year-old Marsha Birkholz, is expected to be okay.

The remaining students on the bus were treated and released to their parents at the scene.

Police say the accident is still under investigation.
