ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- A man is dead after a crash in Rock County.
Police say that around 7:20 a.m. they were dispatched to a single vehicle traffic crash on W STH 81 near S. Olson Road.
When emergency personnel arrived, they found a 2004 Chevrolet pick-up truck with the driver, a 28-year-old Beloit man next to the vehicle. The driver was taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead.
Police say initial investigation of the scene shows the driver was heading westbound on W. STH 81, approaching S. Olson Road when he over corrected. The truck is believed to have traveled across the east bound lane and into the south ditch, rolling and ejecting the driver and colliding with a tree. The driver was not wearing his seat belt during the crash.
It is believed the wet road conditions may have been a factor in the crash. It is still under investigation at this time.
W STH was closed for approximately 1 and a half hours while emergency personnel investigated and cleared the scene.
