ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A business that's called Rockford’s west side home for more than four decades celebrates a multi-million dollar grand re-opening.
The Blain's Farm and Fleet on West State Street has been closed since earlier this year for improvements. Thursday was a much different story; the parking lot and checkout lanes were packed for a grand re-opening after the store remodeled and expanded its shop. Some customers say they're happy to see the business invest in a part of town that has struggled to bring in new tenants
“They need a lot more stuff here on the west side so more people can get access to what they need to live in their house and take care of their machinery,” Andy Helwig, a Farm and Fleet Shopper, said.
“We also need different stores out here hopefully they start thinking about that and building and relocating and coming to this side of town,” Ann Breece, shopper, said.
