ROCKFORD (WIFR) – A Rockford Family hopes witnesses will help put their loved one’s killer behind bars, even though it’s been four years since Antonio Tate’s death.

“Every year for Christmas, I have to look at his kids, his four girls, and it’s hard to talk to them. I don’t know what to say to them. Please give us justice, it’s been four years now, we don’t want to go 5,” said Joann Tate Thomas, Antonio Tate’s mother.

Antonio Tate’s mother and sister decorate their Christmas tree every year with his photos. They say the holiday season was his favorite time of the year.

Four years ago, Tate was found dead inside a car that has crashed outside Rockford Memorial Hospital. He’d been shot. A woman inside the car was also hit and survived. Tate’s family says they won’t get closure until his murder is solved.
