ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Families celebrate their Swedish roots in Rockford with plenty of food and activities.
The Swedish Historical Society hosted the annual Midsommar Fest on Saturday. The all-day event featured tours of the Erlander Home in Rockford, crafts on sale at the “Marknad”, plus pancakes and other Swedish delicacies from the Stockholm Inn. Swedish folk dancers taught steps to visitors and live entertainment was provided by Rockford’s own Ernie Sandquist and the Nordic Dancers of Chicago.
The Swedish Historical Society was formed in 1938.
