Extrication Needed at Accident on S. Main
An accident on S. Main calls for several ambulances and extrication for subjects inside car.

UPDATE: A car accident near South Main this morning left two people in the hospital.
A car heading north veered into the southbound lanes hitting a Jeep.
Traffic was diverted in both the south and north lanes while rescue crews worked. One car was turned on its side and extrication was needed. 63-year-old Dean Gunger and 35-year-old John Hensley were taken to the hospital with non life-threatening injuries.
ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- The Winnebago County Sheriff's Department along with Blackhawk Fire Department were sent to the scene of a two car accident just after 8:00am Wednesday morning.
While the details are still unclear at this time, we do know that an unknown amount of people were taken to area hospitals and extrication was needed at the scene. One car was completely on its side.
Traffic in both the North and South directions was diverted while crews were on the scene.

There have sure been a lot of serious accidents on South Main in the Blackhawk fire district in the past few months. What a dangerous piece of highway.
