ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- After nearly eight and a half years Executive Director for the Rockford Public Library, Frank Novak, will be leaving to assume the duties as the new Director for the Huntley Area Public Library District in Huntley, Illinois.
“It has been a pleasure to serve the Rockford community,” said Novak. “I was offered a new opportunity and I felt that the time was right to make a change. I am excited to begin my new job and work to make the Huntley Area Public Library District the very best it can be."
"I accepted his letter with regret since I have enjoyed our working relationship over the years and I believe Frank has served the library and our community in an exemplary manner," said Paul Logli, Board of Trustees President.
Mr. Novak brought to Rockford a progressive vision and ambition to lead the library into the 21st century.
Through Frank’s leadership, the library established the East Branch facility and expanded cultural and educational offerings for the whole city through the acquisition of the Nordlof Center, among other things.
Mr. Novak’s last day with the library will be April 11, 2014.
