Evansville Woman Killed in Rock County Crash

ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- Slippery roads are to blame for a deadly car crash Thursday afternoon in Rock County.

The Rock County Sheriffs Department says around 3:00 p.m. Elizabeth Proctor, 19, of Evansville, WI, was killed after crashing her vehicle on N. USH 14 near Union Township.

The Rock County Sheriffs Department says Proctor was traveling northbound on N. USH 14 when she lost control of her Ford Escort on the slippery road covered with blowing and drifting with snow. Proctor's vehicle slid sideways across the center-line and into the path of Raymond Reinart, 72, of Granton, WI.

After the crash, Proctor's vehicle came to rest in the snow bank on the west side of the road and Reinart's vehicle came to rest in traffic on N. USH 14.

Proctor had been wearing her seat-belt and was pronounced dead on scene.

Reinart and his passenger, Marggo Young, 66, were both wearing seat-belts and were taken by ambulance to the hospital and released.

Law enforcement say poor road conditions were a contributing factor in the crash, which remains under investigation.
