ROCK COUNTY (WIFR) -- Rock County-area job seekers have a chance to meet with prospective employers at a career fair Monday, August 25 at the Community Action Pathways Center in Beloit. This is the first hiring event with multiple employers hosted by the Workforce Investment Act (WIA) program at Community Action.
“The unemployment rate in Rock County, and Beloit specifically, is rather high,” says Nicole Ditzenberger, WIA Transition Coordinator at Community Action. “Our participants work with a case manager to build resume and interview skills. Other programs at the Rock County Job Center also work closely with their clients to prepare them for these events. We use these types of recruitments to get the word to employers and local residents about our services, trainings and programs.”
The hiring event is free and open to the public. Nine employers from Beloit, Clinton, Darlington, Madison and Rockford are expected to attend. Employers are recruiting for currently available job openings. Pre-registration for job seekers is not required.
