Elementary Teacher Surprised with Supplies

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It's estimated that teachers spend about $1,000 out of pocket to buy school supplies for their classrooms and today, one very deserving Stateline teacher found out that's something she won't have to worry about.

Mrs. Morgan teaches kindergarten at McIntosh elementary. She was nominated by the school's principal to win a thousand dollars’ worth of supplies through OfficeMax's "A Day Made Better" program. Morgan was very much taken by surprise to find out she was one of just a thousand teachers nationwide to be selected. She tells us the supplies will be a big help.

“I was extremely surprised, I had no idea. I was sitting there saying 'let them call somebody else, let them call somebody else' and they called me. I'm just overwhelmed really,” said kindergarten teacher, Marilyn Morgan.

This is OfficeMax's sixth year surprising teachers.
