ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Getting rid of those old televisions sitting around our homes can actually help others become more self-sufficient.
Hundreds of people did just that Saturday morning up in Roscoe as they recycled old televisions, computers and other electronics.
Goodwill partnered with First National Bank and Trust for the drive. For every pound collected, the bank will donate one penny to Goodwill.
Organizers say last year they collected more than 45,000 pounds.
If you missed it, there will be two more recycling drives. The next is on August 16th at the First National Bank branch on Cranston Road in Beloit.
