ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A local concealed carry meeting is so packed, many were left waiting outside to get in because of the building's fire code.
Dozens of people turned up for Monday’s forum at the YWCA in Rockford. A panel of local experts answered questions concerning the roll out of our state's new concealed carry law. The event was cosponsored by the YWCA and the League of Women Voters. Some in the crowd say they were already prepared for the law's debut but welcomed another opportunity to get details out to the public.
“It’s heartening to see that people are this interested, that they'll come
out in the number they did tonight where it was standing room only and they'll involve themselves in this process,” says Bill Zanges, who attened the forum. “I think it says good things about this law's implementation, because as evidenced by tonight, people are prepared to approach it responsibly."
The first day people can submit concealed carry applications in January 5, 2013.
