Downed Power Line Causes Power Outage on Rockford's West Side

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A downed power line is to blame for a power outage on Rockford's west side.

According to Paul Callighan with ComED, the power outage began around 11 a.m leaving about 450 people without power.

The cause of the power outage was found to be a downed power line at Daisyfield and Cunningham. About 275 people had power restored by 11:43 a.m. Crews are working to restore the rest by mid-afternoon.

The cause of the downed power line is still under investigation.
