DIXON (WIFR) – On May 1, 2013 at 4:30pm, the Dixon Police Department arrested 33-year-old Ted Valdes, of North Ottawa Avenue, Dixon, Illinois in relation to an ongoing drug investigation in Dixon.
The Dixon Police Department arrested Valdes at his residence without incident. During the course of the investigation, Valdes delivered less than 1 gram of heroin to an agent of the Dixon Police Department. The heroin had street value of approximately $100.00.
Valdes was charged with Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a Senior Citizen Center (Class 1 Felony), Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance within 1,000 feet of a Church (Class 1 Felony), Unlawful Delivery of a Controlled Substance (Class 2 Felony), and Unlawful Possession of a Controlled Substance (Class 4 Felony). Valdes was turned over to the Lee County Jail in order to have bond set.
During the course of the investigation, Valdes was identified as being one of the largest heroin dealers in the Dixon area. The Dixon Police Department also received numerous complaints from the community regarding a lot of stop and go traffic from Valdes’ residence. The Dixon Police Department advises there are more arrests pending for the current drug investigation.
