STEPHENSON COUNTY (WIFR) -- A Dixon man is dead after a two-vehicle accident in Stephenson County.

The crash happened Sunday afternoon on Route 26 just north of Rudy Road. Sheriff's deputies say a Chevy Equinox was headed north on Route 26 when the driver swerved into oncoming traffic and hit a 1957 Chevrolet.

The driver of that car, Bradley Wohrley, was pronounced dead on scene. His passenger, Mary Wohrley was transported to Rockford Memorial Hospital where she is listed in stable condition.

James Battisti of Freeport was the driver of the Equinox. Battisti suffered non-life threatening injuries.

No word on the cause of the crash yet.
