ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- We've seen a lot of improvements in our local schools, thanks to District 205's 10 year facilities plan. Administrators say they want to keep that momentum going to bring our kids the best education.
Progress, that's one word administrators are using to describe this school year. That's why they're already working on what they'd like to improve for the 2014-2015 academic year.
The school board met this morning to discuss ways of improving District 205 from physical school buildings, to individual learning environments. Administrators say they're happy with the progress so far, which included renovating some elementary schools.
They want to continue to focus on school safety, since thousands of door locks were installed. School board president Kenneth Scrivano says it's a step in the right direction.
"Continue to improve academics results of our students so that we have a good group of kids graduating with the abilities to attend college or to go on to their careers and be ready for life," said Scrivano.
Scrivano says they've improved in security with the school bus tracking devices. That allows administrators to see whether students are on their school buses.
