ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Rockford Public High School teachers are hitting the pavement to incorporate more real-world experience into the classroom.
More than 250 teachers stopped by over a dozen businesses, including OSF Saint Anthony Medical Center. Starting this school year all high schools will each focus on a certain industry to encourage students to think more about college and a career. Instructors talked with workers about what will help students to advance in the workplace.
Another round of teachers will be visiting nearly 20 companies around Rockford next Thursday.
