Department of Justice Commits Funding to Start Work on Thomson Prison

THOMSON (WIFR) -- The Department of Justice has committed over $53 million to start work on Thomson Prison. The funding was approved in January by Congress.

About $10 million will be used for renovation. The other $43 million will be used for staffing and equipment. Thomson is expected to take two years to open with $25 million of upgrades and over $170 million needed for equipment and staff.
