UPDATE: Testimony Resumes in Trial of Murder Suspect

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- The trial of the man accused of killing five members of central Illinois family is set to resume.

Christopher Harris is on trial in Peoria for the deaths of 46-year-old Raymond Gee and his 39-year-old wife Ruth Gee, along with his 11-year-old son Austin, her 14-year-old son Dillen and her 16-year-old daughter Justina. The couple's 3-year-old daughter was beaten but survived.

Investigators allege Harris and his brother, Jason Harris, broke into the home to sexually assault Justina and rob the family. Prosecutors say Jason Harris, who accepted a plea deal carrying a 20-year prison sentence, will testify he saw his brother emerge from the house in Beason and beat Dillen.

Thursday saw a crime scene investigator describe the trauma suffered by the victims and the blood-spattered condition of the house.

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Prosecutors are expected to begin a second day of what could be two weeks of testimony in the case of a man charged with killing five members of a central Illinois family.

Prosecutors began their case against 34-year-old Christopher Harris on Wednesday by saying Harris' brother, Jason Harris, will testify against him.

Christopher Harris has pleaded not guilty to murder in the 2009 deaths of 46-year-old Raymond "Rick" Gee and 39-year-old Ruth Gee and three of their children. Sixteen-year-old Justina Constant, 14-year-old Dillen Constant and 11-year-old Austin Gee were the young victims.

The five were found beaten to death in their home in Beason. A 3-year-old daughter survived.

Defense attorneys have argued Jason Harris has a past perjury conviction and has repeatedly changed his story.
