ILLINOIS (WIFR) – Illinois could soon join the nearly three dozen states that have raised their speed limits to 70 miles per hour.
Governor Quinn has until Monday to either sign or veto the legislation, otherwise it automatically becomes law. The limit would be raised from 65-70 on most four lane highways in the state.
Both the Illinois State Police and Quinn’s transportation chief, Ann Schneider, are against it.
