DAKOTA (WIFR) -- Dakota School District 201 will outsource its transportation service to Freeport after the plan passes the school board by a seven to zero vote.
The district believes the move will be beneficial to both districts. This will financially help the district as well as improve the safety of the students on the bus says district school superintendent Mike Schiffman.
Freeport is looking to hire all of the Dakota bus drivers back that meet the qualifications to drive the same routes they've driven for years.
Dakota has 12 drivers and 870 students.
