DUI Suspect Sentenced for Crashing into Rockford Rescue Mission

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockfrod man pleads guilty to drunk driving and crashing his car into a crowd outside the Rescue Mission.
Mauricio Palacios will spend the next 16 years in prison.

Back in December 2011 he went to the Rockford Rescue Mission for a Christmas Toy Giveaway but he was turned away, that's when he rammed his car into a crowd waiting for toys. Two people were hurt.

Palacios' blood alcohol content was almost three times the legal limit. He was also ordered to pay a $1,000 fine for not having insurance.
