DIXON (WIFR) -- It's been more than a week since ex-Dixon comptroller Rita Crundwell was sentenced to nearly 20 years in federal prison, but it will be a least another month before she's actually goes there.
Currently, Crundwell is in the Boone County Jail, which is where she'll stay until feds figure out which prison to send her to. The judge requested that she go to a prison closest to Beloit, where her boyfriend lives.
The closest federal institution is in Chicago. Once they decide, she'll be flown to Oklahoma City first to the Federal Transfer Center so it could be another 4-6 weeks before Crundwell reaches her final destination.
Crundwell's jewelry that she bought with taxpayer dollars will be auctioned off tomorrow in Texas and online.
You can find out more about the auction here.
