ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- One of the largest free Thanksgiving dinners in the Rockford area takes place at Court Street United Methodist Church every year. To make the feeding of hundreds of the homeless possible again in 2013, the Church is looking for volunteers and donations.

Court Street United Methodist Church needs volunteers Thanksgiving week, Monday, November 25th through Friday, November 29th, for various types of preparation and cleanup. Donations are also welcome including cash donations to the church. Court Street also needs 30 baked pies donated, either store baked or frozen.

"Volunteers are crucial to the success of this Thanksgiving dinner," pointed out Lorelle Wandell, Court Street United Methodist Co-Administrator. "Without their help and donations it wouldn't be possible to feed the hundreds of people who show up and enjoy a traditional Thanksgiving dinner that many of us take for granted each year."

For more information about how to volunteer or donate please call Nancy at Court Street United Methodist Church at 815-654-0045.
