ILLINOIS (WIFR) -- Training for concealed carry in Illinois is one step closer to reality.
Illinois State Police say more than 50 instructors have been given the green light to train people to carry weapons.
So far, hundreds have applied and three are from our area including Rockford, Freeport, and DeKalb.
Anyone who wants a concealed carry license must complete 16 hours of training by an approved instructor before applying for a license starting in early January.
