Closings Begin in Trial Over Illinois Family's Deaths

PEORIA, Ill. (AP) -- Closing arguments are getting underway in the trial of an Illinois man charged with beating five former in-laws to death with a tire iron.

Attorneys began making their final arguments Thursday morning in the trial of 34-year-old Christopher Harris. A judge has said jurors could begin deliberating Thursday afternoon.

Harris is charged with beating Rick and Ruth Gee to death along with two of Ruth Gee's children and Rick Gee's son in their Beason home in 2009. Harris was once married to Rick Gee's adult daughter. She wasn't at the home.

Harris admits killing Ruth Gee's son, Dillen Constant. But Harris claims he walked in on the 14-year-old boy killing his own family.

But Harris' brother, Jason Harris, testified that Harris admitted killing the family.
