City of Freeport Grants Funds Available to Assist New and Expanding Downtown Retail Businesses

FREEPORT (WIFR) -- The City of Freeport has grant funds available to assist new and expanding businesses in Freeport’s downtown district. To be eligible, a business must be located or be locating within the City’s Downtown TIF district. The grant seeks to assist retail businesses offering merchandise of services to the public. The majority of the business’s revenue must generate sales tax revenue in order for the business to qualify for the grant funds.
Grant funds may be used for expenses such as build out of space, signage, visual merchandising services, launch-related marketing and advertising.
Grants can be awarded in amounts up to $10,000. This is a reimbursement grant, with up to 50 percent of qualifying expenses eligible for reimbursement.
