DIXON (WIFR) – The city of Dixon is working to change its public image after former comptroller Rita Crundwell stole more than $50 million from the community.
We caught up with people in Dixon who say there’s more confidence throughout the city now that Rita Crundwell is in prison.
City administrators say they’re working to fi downtown streets along with landscaping. It’s part of a $6 million project. Workers hope to attract more businesses and rebuild people’s confidence in the community.
Dixon has received more than half of the nearly $54 million from Crundwell’s settlement. That money will go towards the city’s reserves and paying off debt.
