ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- It was a full house at Rockford's Court Street United Methodist Church, where volunteers served hundreds of Thanksgiving dinners to those in need.
Dozens of parishioners have been in the kitchen since last Saturday getting ready.
Today they passed out more than a thousand meals, including take-out, to anyone who was going to be spending the holiday alone or who couldn't make it themselves.
Donations from around the stateline have been pouring in to help pay for the feast.
Volunteer Nancy Stanis says, "You can see the need out here, especially downtown area, and I don't know. We just want to give back, cause we feel, you know put some blessings back on them."
