ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- In honor of Valentine’s Day, Rockford’s Discovery Center hosted "Chocolate Sundae Sunday".
Kids and parents got to build their own sundaes, learn about the science behind ice cream, and create handmade valentines. The Dixieland Docs provided some smooth jazz for background. Families say it wasn't the best day to be outside so this was the perfect alternative.
“It’s a good way for families to do something together. It’s fun for the kids, it’s fun for the adults, everybody can find a thing to do and just be together. We need more time as families and its just gives us a good opportunity,” says Aimee Klemp who brought her kids to the event.
Proceeds from the event help fund the museum's other education programs.
