CNG Safety Training for First Responders

ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Local first responders spent Thursday training for a potential emergency.

They were at the Mobile Gas Station on Southrock Drive in Rockford. You may remember last week we told you its the first facility in the region to offer compressed natural gas. Today members from Trillium CNG were on hand to educate first responders on what to do in case of an incident involving a CNG station or vehicle.

We're told the CNG pumps are under 24 hour monitoring and in case of an emergency it has an automatic shut off.
