ROCKFORD (WIFR)) -- It's been about 10 days since the orange barrels came down, on Route 173, and local business owners are thankful.
The intersection of 251 and 173 has been a nightmare since April. Now, just in time for the holiday shopping season, it's all clear. We stopped by Onyx Bar and Grill around lunchtime today. The manager tells us he hopes even more diners will come eat there for lunch, now that it won't take as long to get in and out of the parking lot.
"It's getting better, slowly but surely. I think once people find out that it's cleared up, we're going to get more traffic, and holiday shoppers should be coming through this year, so we're looking forward to getting busier,” said Billy Roiniotis, manager at Onyx Bar and Grill.
