ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- A Rockford man will spend more than half a decade in prison for breaking into eight homes and cars in the Stateline.
Lorne Scott was sentenced to six years after pleading guilty on Wednesday. Police say he's the man responsible for multiple crimes including a home invasion on South Vale Street in November. He's also in some trouble for forgery.
Police say eight burglaries in the last several months are linked to one Rockford man.
50-year-old Lorne Scott was found by police hiding in a closet in an apartment in the 2300 block of 8th Avenue.
He’s accused of breaking into homes and cars near the Rockford Plaza on Charles Street.
