STATELINE (WIFR) -- With two weeks left in the spring session, it's still unclear whether lawmakers will take up the proposed extension of the state's temporary income tax increase.

Governor Pat Quinn spent time with the house democratic caucus to discuss the vote.

Quinn originally called for the plan during his budget address in March. Right now, income tax rates are scheduled to drop from 5% to 3.75% next January, nearly $2 billion in lost revenue for the state.
