Bruce Rauner Makes Campaign Stop in Rockford

ROCKFORD (WIFR) – One of the GOP Gubernatorial candidates on the ballot in a few weeks made a campaign stop in Rockford earlier Monday.

Businessman Bruce Rauner stopped to talk to folks at the Great Harvest. Rauner will face state senators Kirk Dillard and Bill Brady along with State Treasurer an Rutherford in the Republican Primary. Rauner says Rockford is an influential part of the state.

"Rockford is suffering from the bad policies of Pat Quinn and the politicians in Springfield -- high unemployment, de-funding schools, loss of jobs, rising taxes, and just lack of economic opportunity. We need to transform our government,” said Rauner.

The primary is just two weeks and a day away on Tuesday, March 18th.

On Wednesday, March 5, you watch Rauner and the three other GOP candidates address our State’s issues. The debate starts at 6 p.m. on Antenna TV.
