Boxelder bugs appear to be swarming the stateline. So much so we had trouble finding an a exterminator to do an interview with considering many say they are swamped with calls right now.
While it's rare to hear of a company having " too much business," local pest control agencies say they are responding to an increase in boxelder bug calls.
Experts say the insects typically arrive in masses at the start of October, especially after a dry, hot summer, which we experienced this year.
Stateline exterminators say we can use a soap and water mix to remove the pests. However that will kill them directly, not prevent them from invading our space.
