BOONE COUNTY (WIFR) -- The Boone County Sheriff's Office recently completed extra patrols for the Thanksgiving Holiday. The patrols were funded by a grant from the Illinois Department of Transportation.
The patrols were looking for DUI offenders. There were 6 different patrols working a total of 42 hours during nighttime periods.
Police report 30 vehicles were stopped, resulting in 3 DUI arrests, 2 arrests for suspended or revoked drivers, 9 uninsured motorist tickets, 12 speeding tickets, 1 reckless driving citation, and 16 other miscellaneous citations. There was also on drug arrest.
