JANESVILLE (WIFR) -- A body has been pulled out of the Rock River in Janesville.
Police say it's a woman at least 60 years or older. Right now the woman's identity is not known, so we don't know if it is the missing elderly woman that hasn't been seen for a week.
The body was found just before 5:00 P.M. Friday in the river west of the Monterey Dam along Grand Avenue.
A 15-year-old boy was fishing on the south bank of the river when he saw pants and shoes in the river and went to a nearby bait and tackle shop to call 911.
Police say there are no obvious signs of trauma to the body and it looks like it has been in the water for quite sometime.
Janesville police have been looking all week for Mary Coultard. The 75-year-old woman hasn't been seen since last Friday. Her purse and water bottle were found on the Milwaukee Street Bridge last Saturday.
Just to be clear we don't know if the body found Friday night is Coultard. Police say more information will be released after an autopsy and when the victim's family is notified.
Janesville Police Deputy Chief Dan Davis says they were notified about the body around 5:00 p.m. Friday night. Davis says the body was found along Grand Avenue south of the Highway 51 bridge. Right now police don't know how old the victim is or if it's a man or a woman.
