ROCKFORD (WIFR) -- Every January when the third Monday of the month rolls around, experts say people get downright depressed.
Studies say today is the most depressing day of the year. Nobody has paid their Christmas bills, you probably have already broken your New Year’s resolution and man, it’s cold out.
However, it turns out nobody was really singing the blues today, not even those of us who had to get out of bed and go to work.
In fact, when 23 News went to see how people were feeling today, we received a surprisingly cheery response.
“It’s a beautiful day. It’s bright out. There’s sunshine. It’s a little cold, but this is Illinois and it's winter, I mean what would we expect?” said Guy Spinello of Rockford.
“This couldn't be the most depressing day of the year because it’s Martin Luther King’s birthday,” said Christina Perez.
"The sun's out so I’m kinda having a pretty good day to tell you the truth. I’m eatin'," said Michael Gregory of Rockford.
